Mentor Program
Foster Heart Link Mentor Program is a Mentor Program for children and youth ages 8 – 17 who have been placed out of home.

Mentoring Mission: The mission of Youth Mentoring is for faithful followers of Jesus to develop friendships with youth in need of a role model to help them understand their God given purpose.
Foster Heart Link, Inc. is a faith based ministry in Pinellas County. The vision of the Foster Heart Link Mentor program is to see every child/youth experiencing out-of-home placement to be matched in a one-on-one mentoring relationship with a committed Christian adult.
The mentors and staff recruited and selected by the Foster Heart Link Mentor Program are men and women from Christian Churches in the community who have a heart to serve God by conveying the love of Jesus Christ through the mentoring relationship. This is a natural out flow of the relationship as it builds during the mentoring experience. Christian mentoring is not preaching although the Gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed. Our mentors share the hope in Christ that they have by word and in their lives.
All mentors and staff are trained in the specific needs of the out-of-home child/youth and have been given specific tools for them to help address the issues that may arise. A screening process will take place with every applicant to create the best match possible. Mentors will commit to spend one to two hours a week with the child/youth for a minimum period of one (1) year. A criminal background clearance will be conducted.
If you have or know of a child/youth who could benefit from a mentor relationship, please contact us to begin the referral process. If you are a Christian who desires to become a mentor and a life long friend of a foster child, please volunteer today!
